Gifts Card Set Tutorial

I have recreated this card set a number of times this year using directions by Valerie Stangle. She uses a scoring tool that some people do not own so, I have written instructions for the box using any scoring tool. This box will fit standard 4 1/4"x 5 1/2" cards and envelopes.

You will need:
  • Paper Cutter with scoring tool
  • Sticky Strip
  • Paper Snips
  • A piece of card stock or Designer Series Paper cut at 11 1/8" x 8 5/8"
  • A piece of cardboard cut at 4 1/2" x 6". A great thickness is the cardboard that comes in the Designer Series paper or Pattern Packs.
STEP 1: Begin scoring your card stock or designer series paper. Place the 8 5/8" side at the top of your paper cutter/scoring device and score at 1" and 2". Turn the paper a quarter turn so that the 11 1/8" is now at the top of your scoring device. Score again at 1" and 2 ". Turn the paper a quarter turn and score at 1" and 2". Turn a final quarter turn and score at 2" and 3". All four sides are now scored.

STEP 2: Cut the two long rectangles off sides at the end that is scored at 2" and 3". Cut the opposite end scored at 1" and 2" as shown above.

STEP 3: Cut the 4 small squares into flaps. Cut the squares down a little as seen in the picture above.

STEP 4: Add Sticky Strip to flaps as shown above.

STEP 5: Flip paper over and add Sticky Strip to back side as shown above.

STEP 6: Crease all score lines. Remove adhesive covers from the 4 small squares and attach to side panels to create the box sides.

STEP 7: Remove adhesive covers from sides and bottom and fold down to create the box.

STEP 8: Adhere remaining sides to complete box as shown above. Add the 4"x6" piece of cardboard to inside of card box if using Designer Series paper to strengthen bottom.

Decorate your box and add cards! You've got a beautiful gift!

God Bless,
